Global Friends is an iOS app that maps your friends' hometowns on a private world map. It is built for people whose closest people are scattered across countries — nomads, expats, third-culture kids, and anyone whose friends now call fifteen different cities home.
Find My Friends and Snap Map share real-time location. Global Friends does not. You add where each friend calls home — their hometown, the city they live in, or wherever you want to remember them living. There is no live tracking, no surveillance, no "who is near me right now."
Your friends are not tracked — they don't need an app, an account, or a phone. With your permission, the app reads your own location for two things: showing the distance to each friend on the map, and quietly letting you know when you arrive somewhere a friend lives. Your location is not sent to Vagabonder or PostHog, is not broadcast to your friends, and is not included in product analytics. Apple system services may process location and geocoding requests under Apple's privacy policy.
Save up to 50 friends free, including maps, notes, contact import, relationship tracking, and optional arrival reminders. Pro adds unlimited friends, premium pin styles, advanced filters with saved views, and vCard or CSV export. Choose annual Pro (US $9.99/year, with an eligible $4.99 first year) or lifetime Pro (US $34.99 once). Local prices and eligibility are shown in the app before purchase. Your saved friends remain viewable and editable if Pro expires.
Global Friends is built for iPhone and iPad running iOS or iPadOS 26.1 or later. Visit its App Store page for availability in your country. An Android version is not available.
The friends and places you add — names, addresses or home cities, notes, photos, contact links, and any interactions you choose to record. You can type these in or import selected entries from your Contacts (with your permission). Friend data lives in your iCloud private database, or locally on your device if you are not signed into iCloud. Vagabonder does not operate a server that stores your friend network. If you opt in to product analytics, PostHog receives only a pseudonymous installation ID, limited product events, and restricted technical metadata; it does not receive names, contact contents, friend data, or location.
No. Friends you add to Global Friends are not notified, and your map is not shared anywhere by default. The map exists for your reference only — like a personal journal of where the people in your life live.
